The Price  of Chinese Handicrafts

In 2019, on the initiative of Ms. Lei Geye, Ms. Cao Dan, and Ms. Christine Cayol, the YISHU 8 Prize introduced a new category - The YISHU 8 Prize · Golden Phoenix (Chinese Handicraft Prize).

The YISHU 8 Golden Phoenix Prize is co-founded by the Golden Phoenix Fund of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation and YISHU 8. The prize aims to enable traditional Chinese craft to connect the past with the present, to create connections and friendship among people. Through the selection of young Chinese craft artists, exchange programs for young Chinese and French craft artists, and relevant exhibitions, the prize promotes outstanding traditional Chinese culture and fosters friendship among young people from China and France.

Han Chang

Han Chang 

Born in 1988, Han Chang is a jewelry designer. He studied at the Central Academy of Fine Arts in Beijing from 2009 to 2013, where he obtained his bachelor's degree, and at the Birmingham School of Jewelery from 2014 to 2015, where he obtained his master's degree. Since 2017, he has been teaching at the Tianjin Academy of Fine Arts.

Ni Lingling

Ni Linglingcurrently lives and works in Shanghai.

She graduated from Shanghai Vocational School of Art and Design. In 2011, she self-taught the manufacture of wool felt, in 2016, the traditional felt with the craftsman Yang XiongBiao. She will train on natural dyeing techniques. In her creations, she likes to modify the nature of felt to create new textures, between tradition and innovation.
